SeaPoint Earns Coastal Sustainability Award

Philip Rowland, left, accepted a Coastal Sustainability Award from Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols, center, in honor of the solar array project at SeaPoint.
On October 30, the Savannah Sustainability Council recognized the 1.2-million-watt solar array project at SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex with a 2025 Coastal Sustainability Award. Dulany Industries transformed an abandoned City of Savannah landfill into a source of clean, green energy that generates enough electricity to power 240 homes over the course of a year.
Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols presented the Coastal Sustainability Award to Dulany Industries Vice President of Operations Philip Rowland at a special ceremony held at Plant Riverside District in Savannah. Philip thanked Dulany Industries for the company’s remarkable commitment to sustainability and recognized key partners in this project, including Terracon, Triplett Contracting, the City of Savannah, Georgia EPD and the Greenfield Environmental Trust.
“It’s a great feeling to take a former landfill site and to put it to productive use,” Philip explained. “This project represents the power of sustainability and creative reuse of brownfield sites right here in Georgia.”
